Yes, entrepreneurs need self-belief to succeed, especially when facing challenging situations, but they also need encouragement from those around them. This is sometimes hard to find when you’re the owner of a business.
Some business owners feel they can’t share their anxieties and fears because they’re afraid of the outcome – will they look weak? Will they set into motion a negative chain of events?
The truth is we all need to share our worries with a trusted network of people. If you don’t know where to start, read our article based around Haines Watts’ research of business owners for their ‘Love or Money’ survey.
Remember too, Haines Watts’ doors are always open!
In the meantime, if you know someone who needs some encouragement ensure you give it to them. And, if they’re a young entrepreneur who you think has a great business but is needing a boost, tell them about the Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition for the Thames Valley. If they enter before the closing date of 30th September they may find themselves in the finals on 16th November. Prizes include PR for their business, cash – and mentoring from a Partner at Haines Watts. What better encouragement can you get?
The HWYE competition is open to young entrepreneurs under 35 from around the Thames Valley area (including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey).
Entry is free – apply here and provide some details about your company and why it should win. Applicants must have been in business for over a year but there is no lower age limit.
Whatever your circumstances, seek help if you need it and remember that a little encouragement can go a long way!
